Bespoke characters are awesome! The pregens are great for pick-up-and-play, but the whole point of TTRPGs is to make characters you'd like to play. One major pitfall of character creation is analysis paralysis. Work with your GM and/or fellow players to workshop out some ideas. == Check with your GM == Generally, regardless if it's a wild tangents play space or some other gaming table with some other GM, check with your GM what type of characters are allowed/not allowed in the campaign they are prepping for. There might be cases where certain restrictions are in place for plot/setting reasons, balance reasons, or other design choices. == Tools for building == A few great resources for character creation are [https://pathbuilder2e.com/ Pathbuilder] and [https://2e.aonprd.com/ archives of nethys] == For the Wild Tangents == I'll pretty much allow anything for the time being, but check with me if something you want to use has the uncommon or rare traits. Since we are playing largely within the Pathfinder Society umbrella, there are a few restrictions: * No homebrew content (partly balance, partly because idk how to get it integrated into Foundry stuff) * characters must be loyal to/allied with the Pathfinder Society in some way ** as such, all custom characters will get the [https://2e.aonprd.com/Archetypes.aspx?ID=13 Pathfinder Agent] as a [https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=1333 free archetype]. * No evil characters / ulterior motives (see above) == Additional Information == There is a lot to consider with creating characters, so I made an infodump on it. I try to include a lot of useful information, but it is an unedited joy ride of thoughts. [[Infodump:Conceptualizing_a_Character]]
