Mirthful Rhus
From The Wild Tangents
Concept[edit | edit source]
Background:[edit | edit source]
Childhood:[edit | edit source]
At a young age Mirthful Rhus was taken from his pack and sold to a circus. While he wasn't very gifted in the performance department, he earned his keep offering a helping hand, especially if you needed to be lifted the burden of your coin purse. After a slow haul and the beating by the Ring Master, Rhus decided the locks on the owlbear's cage needed to be replaced, and the owlbear looked a little hungry. Rhus was kind enough to let the Ring Master know something was amiss but did not stick around for the untimely death.
Adulthood:[edit | edit source]
Rhus has become a little jaded drifting from place to place with odd jobs here and there. While Rhus tries to embody a rough intimidating exterior, this ruse hides a loyal and friendly soul seeking a pack to belong to. Rhus' recent endeavors have primarily revolved around providing security detail, investigative work, and mercenary jobs. Due to his upbringing and a conspicuously placed scar, it doesn't take much to turn his cute fluffy face into an intimidating grimace.
Goals[edit | edit source]
Rhus is looking to land a stable employ and the friendly company of a new pack. Rhus pines for the day he can put the ruse of his frightful visage to rest and enjoy peaceful days with loved ones in shade of a tree on a grassy knoll.
Edicts[edit | edit source]
Rhus is driven by loyalty to his pack and is compelled to support those close to him. If good can be achieved at minimal sacrifice or with higher odds of success, Rhus will take that bet.
Anathemas[edit | edit source]
Rhus will not abide cruelty and justice will come without mercy.
A, B, C's[edit | edit source]
Ancestry - Kholo, Great Gnoll
Background - Laborer
Class - Rogue, Ruffian Racket
Feats[edit | edit source]
Rhu uses his great size and scary mean face to strong-arm or intimidate his foes. This can put him and his allies in more advantageous positions, or even entirely deescalate the conflict without the need for violence. Rhu's large paws do not often offer the greatest dexterity, so he will use whatever tools he can to get the job done.
Rhus' time in the circus and on the darker parts of town have made him quite nimble at avoiding death's blade.
Despite his large frame, Rhus can be surprisingly easy to lose track of. His years tailing targets and sneaking past guards have taught him where to step.
